Jesse Novels conducted an interview with me regarding my story Lockdown, a short story from my Sanitarium collection. To see the interview, follow this link:

You will be shocked and amazed by all you see there!! Seriously. No, I don't know, but it was a fun interview. Jesse asked a lot of great questions...really made me think.
In other news, I've been thinking about a lot of different things lately and I've come to realize something very important...at least to me. This is something I've known for a long time, but am really noticing just how important this is. Okay, you want to know what it is I've realized in my moments of clarity.
If it wasn't for my husband, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Honest. It's true. I was headed down a dark path when we met, getting involved in things a 17-year-old simply shouldn't be involved in. He opened my eyes to a whole new world, a whole new way of looking at life. I came to realize that my fleeting dream of being a writer COULD actually happen. He encouraged me to get my degree in English with a minor in Creative Writing. He encouraged me to find time in each and every day to write. He does silly things to humor me, like driving to the store at 10pm to purchase a printer and paper so I can print up the finally edited version of Women Scorned. He listens to me prattle on about my writing constantly since I talk about virtually nothing else. He listens to every one of my stories and tells me the truth about how he feels about them, even if the truth is less than favorable. He's my rock.
But, and here's the really important part, he makes me a better writer. He reads Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and other great writers and criticizes them, recognizing their tricks and getting bored with them. So, I know that to impress him, I have to up the ante, I have to give him something new and exciting. He's not easily impressed so when I do manage to impress him, I know I've really written a winner. He tells me, "Take a bow, you sick f**k," whenever I've done something really well. Also, if it wasn't for his in depth knowledge of psychology, my characters wouldn't be as in depth as they are. As it is, he likes to tell me where my characters fall short and where they could be more interesting. An unflinching critic...that's what every writer needs...and I'm very fortunate to be married to mine.
So, here's a shout out to my husband who helped me make all my dreams come true. Without him, I'd be nothing more than a hack with a dream.
Keep reading and I'll keep writing!
